Story, Bud!

Jacobs Fig RollsThere’s this new advert on Irish TV that features a group of actors dressed up as taste buds. They wait apprehensively for their “owner” to break into a packet of fig rolls. Once he does, they go into a kind of frenzy that can only be described as, well, drug-induced.

When you watch it, you’ll know what I mean. The taste buds speak in a hard Dublin accent, address each other as bud, and wax lyrically over “biscuity bits.” These guys have the munchies.

Methinks they smoke too much of the good stuff.

PS: I don’t like fig rolls much.

    I saw this earlier, and I loved it.

    However, like many ads which work on a humorous level, I think it may pall quite quickly.

  2. Freud would have a field day with that head gear! 🙂

  3. Bwahahaha!
    That is too funny . . .

    BTW: Over here, they’re called Fig Newtons (the cookie, not the inflatable head gear). 😉

  4. Gives the expression, “This BUD’s for you” a whole new meaning!
    Or . . .
    I got your BUD right here! {wink}

  5. Funny, but one viewing was enough.

  6. I really like fig newtons, have since I was a kid! But the beer and bud the tastebud I could give a rip about, though. LOL.

  7. You are right, Aardie! Like, we’re HUNGRY, Duuuude! Cin is also right. Once of that one is enough!

    However, over here in the good ol’ USA we have a series of commercials by GEICO (car insurance) that are keeping me in stitches – as well as a lot of other people! I’ll paste two on here for you to sample:

    Enjoy! P.S. I’ve never cared for figs myself – even in “cookie form!”

  8. My favorite is the Axe commercial….
